The congestion charge cost London’s motorists a staggering £200million last year alone, the Evening Standard reveals today.
Motoring groups criticised the “burden” of the charge for the capital’s drivers after it emerged that Transport for London took more than £150m in payments in the 2013/14 financial year.
Drivers were also hit with more than £45m in penalty notices for non-payment of the charge, according to figures released under the Freedom of Information Act.
